Lanzhou, capital of northwest China's Gansu Province, plans to build 300 electric vehicle (EV) charging posts by the end of 2016, according to Lanzhou Transportation Development New Energy Company, Lanzhou Evening News reported.
So far, seven charging stations have been put into operation, and another nine are under construction.
The charging network will cover the whole city to meet the demand of electric cars running on the road.
The city aims to build 7,000 charging posts during the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) to cover the needs of 20,000 new energy vehicles.
