Lanzhou GDP totals 226.4b yuan last year

The GDP in Lanzhou City, capital of Gansu Province, totaled 226.4 billion yuan last year, up by 8.3 percent year on year, according to the report released by Lanzhou Statistics Bureau on Feb. 12.

The economy in Lanzhou operated in a stable way, made steady progress and showed positive trends in the year of 2016, said a spokesman for the Lanzhou Municipal Government. Lanzhou accelerated economic transformation pace, dealt with the downward pressures, promoted supply-side structural reform and improved people’s livelihood to a great extent, he added.

The tertiary industry developed in a rapid way with the added value totaling 141.4 billion yuan, up by 10.9 percent year on year. It accounted for 62.44 percent of GDP and contributed 78.83 percent to GDP growth.

The city of Lanzhou completed fixed assets investment totaling 199.1 billion yuan, up by 10.38 percent year on year. The investment on infrastructure construction totaled 84.2 billion yuan, with a yearly growth of 22.37 percent.

The total retail sales of consumer goods totaled 126.3 billion yuan, with the growth rate up by 0.7 percentage points compared with the previous year.
