In recent years, as traditional foreign trade slows down, new business models represented by cross-border e-commerce have delivered eye-catching performances in Lanzhou’s foreign trade.

To seize the opportunities presented by the Belt and Road Initiative and implement the “Internet Plus Foreign Trade”strategy, Lanzhou started to build Gansu’s first public service platform for developing cross-border e-commerce last September.

The multi-role platform, proposed last September at the 2016 Belt and Road China (Lanzhou) International Cross-border E-commerce Logistics Conference, will serve as a “single window”for offering a wide range of services relating to customs, foreign exchange, national taxation, industry and commerce and logistics upon completion at the end of this month.

Under the initiative to build the platform, relevant government authorities will set up a joint work mechanism for sharing information and joint supervision so as to provide quicker and more convenient services.

Lanzhou also supports e-commerce enterprises elsewhere to set up direct-sale stores in the city.
