Lanzhou produced lily goes global

The annual export volume of Lanzhou produced lily reached over 400 tons and it can earn foreign exchange of US$ 6million per year through export, according to statistics released on June 22.

The planting area of lily across Lanzhou City in 2016 totaled 7,320 hectares, according to Gansu Provincial Statistics Bureau. Its planting area in Qilihe District reached 3773 hectares, with a total output and output value of 29,500 tons and 836 million yuan respectively. The peasants’ per capita income from lily sales in the district reached 9,134 yuan, accounting for 58.9 percent of the disposable income of its rural residents.

The sales network of Lanzhou produced lily has been set up in northeastern, northern and southeastern China and even in Japan, South Korea, U.S., France and some southeastern Asian countries globally. Except fresh and dried lily bulbs, processed products like lily seasoning, oatmeal, coffee, and wine have also been developed to meet various demands of the general public. Until now, there are nearly 200 lily processing enterprises in Lanzhou with the fresh-keeping storage capacity reaching 13,000 tons.
