All related departments shall be devoted to building Lanzhou, Gansu Province's capital city, into a "national civilized city," urged Lin Duo, Secretary of the CPC Gansu Provincial Committee and Director-general of the Standing Committee of Gansu Provincial People’s Congress.

Lin made the remarks at a rally that aimed to mobilize all the departments in Lanzhou to win the city the title of China's National Civilized City.

It has come to a critical juncture, said Lin, calling for the municipal government to make more efforts in further improving citizens' livelihood, enhancing people's cultural taste, and building a more harmonious and livable city.

A list about the appraisal criteria for the national civilized cities shall be outlined and observed, said Lin.

Facility construction and soft environment improvement shall be carefully integrated, he added.

Lin also asked all the related departments to unite as one and strive to make Lanzhou more beautiful and more civilized.
