A meeting themed with "accelerating the development of Lanzhou New Area" was held in the city of Lanzhou, capital of Gansu Province, on July 21.

After five years of construction, Lanzhou New Area has made progress in building up an urban framework and industrial clusters, also in attracting investments and enhancing opening-up, said Feng Jianshen, chairman of Gansu Provincial Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, during the meeting. Under the new normal, new mechanisms and management methods can be used in the new area to form new development modes and we can make explorations in industrial structure formation, project construction, investment and talent attraction so as to create more impetus for further development, he added.

Li Rongcan, secretary of Lanzhou Municipal Party Committee, pointed out that more efforts are needed to realize the strategic orientation of the new area designed by our country and we can learn from other new areas especially the Xiongan New Area to accelerate the development of Lanzhou New Area.
