The carbon emission in the sector of transportation will be controlled below 5.71 million tons by 2025 in the city of Lanzhou, according to a newly released plan entitled "Implementation Plan for Lanzhou Carbon Emission Peak by 2025" on August 1.
The plan noted that the city will step up regular public transportation system before 2020 by adjusting 16 bus lines, adding nine new ones and constructing 13 public transportation hubs in urban and rural areas. The public bike sharing system will be enhanced by establishing 800 rental stations, launching 20,000 bikes and renovating bike lanes before 2025, according to the plan. In addition, the high energy consumption, high pollution and emission cars will be modified and phased out and the new energy public cars and buses will be promoted with greater efforts.
