A German runner named Kai Markus Xiong, 44, arrives in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, on September 7, during his 12,000-kilometer planned journey along the ancient Silk Road. He visits the Zhongshan Bridge and experiences the making process of Lanzhou Beef Noodles in the city. Xiong started his super marathon in Hamburg, Germany, on March 12. He plans to run through Germany, Poland, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, concluding his journey in Shanghai by November of this year. The journey is meant to show respect for China's long history and support for the Belt and Road Initiative, Xiong expressed. [Photo/Lanzhou.cn]
