The Pengjiaping Central Ecological Park is expected to open by September 2018.
Construction on the park, which involves a total investment of 826 million yuan, began in September 2015.
Currently, the park is the only new green land park in the main urban areas of Lanzhou, capital of northwestern China's Gansu Province. It is also the biggest ecological project in Lanzhou's Qilihe District.
Most remarkably, the park, which covers an area of 26.87 hectares, will boast a sightseeing tunnel beneath an artificial lake, the first of its kind in Lanzhou.
Greening of the park is underway, with the ultimate green coverage ratio estimated to exceed 90 percent.
The per capita area of parks and green land in Qilihe District is more than 10 square meters.
