The city of Lanzhou will select twenty major scientific and technological projects and offer fund support for them this year, according to the Lanzhou Municipal Scientific and Technological Bureau on March 22.

The Top 10 Scientific and Technological Projects will get a fund of one million yuan each and the Top 10 Scientific and Technological Innovative will get a fund of 700,000 yuan each. “In the industrial sector, the projects will cover equipment manufacturing, new energy, new material, and electronic information; in that of agriculture, the projects will feature crop planting resource innovation, new variety breeding, mechanical equipment R&D and bio-agriculture; in the social development sector, the projects will cover ecological environment protection, cultural innovation, severe disease prevention and control, public security and modern scientific services,” said Zhao Chen, a spokesperson for the bureau.
