Dubbed the “saloon” of Lanzhou citizens, Dongfanghong Square is the city center for sightseeing, leisure and cultural entertainment.

Located in the center of the Lanzhou City, the square is now a business district covering a total area of 92,172 square meters. Originally built in 1968, it has been reconstructed three times with planted lawns and newly-constructed shopping malls.

The latest expansion round of 1999 incorporated the opinions of Lanzhou citizens to display the concept of environmental protection and humanistic consideration. Tourists could go there for shopping, sightseeing and entertainment.
