The 2014 Joint Meeting of Asian Confucius Institutes was held in Lanzhou University. College leaders and Chinese representatives from 14 Confucius Institutes of 7 countries attended the meeting as well as embassies and officers in education department.

To enhance its sustainable development, the meeting aimed at providing a platform to exchange experiences among Confucius Institutes in Central Asia and Outer Caucasus.

With the joint effort from home and abroad, the Confucius Institutes and their influence in Central Asia and Outer Caucasus kept expanding. As important platforms for local people to study Chinese and exchange Chinese culture, the Confucius Institutes could also promote the construction of Silk Road economic belt by cultivating economic talents knowing Chinese.
