The Silk Road has already become the world-level culture heritage, which is a cultural link combining Europe and Asia. As a historic “main transportation artery”, the Silk Road used to play an important role in the communicational history of economy and culture. It is significant to resuscitate the prosperous of the old Silk Road under the extension and integration of the global economy as well as the reform and opening up in China.

As an important part of the ‘New Silk Road’, the ‘Silk Road Economic Belt’ will be based on the comprehensive transportation fundamental facilities and the construction of the key cities along the line to push forward the regional trade and production structure, with the final goal of developing the regional economy and the whole society.

The Lanzhou Economic Society Developing Bluebook (2014-2015) states to make Lanzhou the core city in the Silk Road Economic Belt through the construction of the “one region and six centers.” Lanzhou will also apply for the free trade experimental plot in the west. It is hoped that the Silk Road Dream can be realized successfully.
