The comprehensive bonded area of Lanzhou New Area will start operation formally this July, according to the organizing committee of Lanzhou New Area on March 31.

The bonded area is currently under construction. It is reported that the main building, a customs inspection workshop, a port operational zone, apartment buildings have completed main construction until the end of last year. The whole construction is expected to be completed by May 5, 2015.

The spokesman for the organizing committee said that investment attraction is the main task now. The projects are planned to cover electronic products production, wine purchasing, auto exhibition and sales, Halal food processing and trade industries, he added.

It is reported that until the end of last year the comprehensive bonded area of Lanzhou New Area has accumulatively accomplished investment totaling 456 million yuan and attracted 10 projects with a total investment of 2.116 billion yuan.

Approved by the State Council on July 15, 2014, the comprehensive bonded area of Lanzhou New Area, occupying an area of 3.39 square kilometers, aims to become an inland import and export distribution center promoting the westward opening-up of Lanzhou New Area and become an important industrial base covering electronic information, petrochemical engineering, bio-medicine, high-end equipment manufacturing and agricultural product processing.
