On April 15, the Lanzhou Environmental Protection Bureau set emissions trading standard prices for a 2-year trial period. The new standards will affect new, changeable and expanded pollution control projects in the area under Lanzhou's administration involving such main pollution as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, wastewater and ammonia compounds.
The standard price for sulfur dioxide is set at 4.80 yuan per kilogram, nitrogen oxide at 4.80 yuan per kilogram, wastewater at 10 yuan per kilogram and ammonia compounds at 10 yuan per kilogram. Pollutant discharging enterprises in Lanzhou New District will enjoy a 30 percent discount on the total contract volume, while enterprises in San County and Honggu District will receive a 20 percent discount.
