The 2015 Lanzhou Rose Festival will kick off in Yongdeng County, Lanzhou City, on May 18, according to a themed news conference on May 5.


The 2015 Lanzhou Rose Festival will kick off in Yongdeng County, Lanzhou City, on May 18, according to a themed news conference on May 5. It will be the 8th session as the yearly festival initiated in 2008.

Themed “Rose Appointment and Healthy Trip,” the festival will present rose sea flowers with fragrance and other renowned sceneries in Yongdeng County.

The Yongdeng County received a total of 2.267 million tourists in 2014 and the tourism revenue totaled 1.49 billion yuan, accounting for 10.4 percent of the county’s GDP. The tourism industry has become the pillar industry for economic transformation in Yongdeng.
