The Tusi Cultural Tourism Festival will kick off at Liancheng Town in Yongdeng County, Lanzhou City, on May 22. The event will last for one month. Tusi, or the Tusi System in China, means the chieftains, who can hand down their positions to their descendants in the feudal society.

A series of activities, including an opening ceremony, a book release conference of Liancheng History, a photography competition, folk art performances and so on, will be held during the event.

The festival has been held annually since 2012. The Liancheng Village at Liancheng Town was included in the first batch of national traditional villages in 2012.
