Lanzhou to enhance cultural industry development

The city of Lanzhou will step up the development of cultural and tourism industries, according to a themed conference held on June 4. The added value of cultural industries in Lanzhou is expected to reach 6.62 billion yuan in 2015, up by 29 percent year on year. The tourism revenue is expected to reach 29.1 billion yuan, with an annual growth rate of 25 percent.

From January to March, the added value of cultural industries in Lanzhou totaled 1.117 billion yuan, up by 12.06 percent year on year and accounting for 2.73 percent of the city’s GDP. From January to May, Lanzhou received 15 million tourists from both home and abroad with the tourism revenue totaling 12 billion yuan, up by 25.8 percent yearly.

The conference notes that the city will build up One-Hundred-li Yellow River Scenic Area and four ancient cultural tourism towns, namely Qingcheng, Hekou, Liancheng and Aganzhen, in 2015.
