An airline connecting Lanzhou, Urumqi with St. Petersburg will be launched by China Southern Airlines on July 16. It is the first direct flight connecting Xinjiang with St. Petersburg.

The flight CZ6035/6 will be carried out by a plane of Boeing 757 every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The plane takes off from Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport at 14:00 and arrives at Urumqi International Airport at 16:45. It then leaves Urumqi at 18:00 and arrives at St. Petersburg Airport at 19:00 local time. The return flight leaves St. Petersburg at 20:20 local time and arrives at Urumqi at 07:10. It leaves for Lanzhou at 08:25 and arrives at 10:55.
