The fifth China Lanzhou Yellow River Cultural Tourism Festival kicked off at the Gansu International Conference and Exhibition Center in Lanzhou City on July 28.

The world intangible cultural heritage performances, including the Taiping Drum, bottle gourd carving and stilting, were presented during the opening ceremony. “Being an important event of the Silk Road International Tourism Festival, the Yellow River Cultural Tourism Festival aims to display the distinctive glamour of Lanzhou, promote local tourism resources and economic development,” said Cao Piyu, vice-mayor of Lanzhou Municipal Government during the opening ceremony.
