On September 21, the mayor of Lanzhou city Yuan Zhanting made site investigations into some non-public enterprises. He discussed with 10-odd heads of businesses, and asked them about the enterprises’ performance.

Yuan said, in recent years, non-public economy increased distinctly both in aggregate volume and profession types, playing an important role in many aspects such as creating jobs, and increasing residents’ income as well as state tax revenue; yet non-public corporations now are facing many challenges such as financing difficulty, weak risk resistance capacity, etc.

He stressed that the government departments should assume the role of servant for non-public enterprises and are duty-bound to help them to get rid of these difficulties.

The mayor pointed out that a service-oriented government should be established to assist enterprises in need to solve actual problems; and favorable economic conditions should be created for non-public enterprises like formulating more advantageous policies and providing stronger financial assistance.
