Modern tram lines to be built in Lanzhou New Area

A total of 5 modern tram lines will be built in Lanzhou New Area to quicken the construction of the traffic network in Lanzhou New Area. Line 1 is going through the first-round pressing at present.

According to the plan, the total length of the five modern tram lines is up to 145 kilometers with 150 stations, 8 transfer stops included and 7 stops can transfer to the subway. The first three lines would be the backbone of the transportation network, Line 4 and 5 would be the auxiliary lines. Line 1 runs from southwest to northeast, covering the main traffic corridors across the city. It mainly provides services to the clusters of integrated services, industries in comprehensive bonded zone and vocational education garden, connecting two sub-centers with a cluster center and assisting the orderly expanding of the urban space in New Area District. Line 1 is laid majorly along the roads of Jingyi, Weishisan, Jingshi, Weiershi, Wenjiao, Beidou, Weishiliu. The total length is 23.550 kilometers with 35 stations, 6 transfer stops included. Occupying an area of 25 hectares, the line is expected to start construction in 2017 and put into use in 2019.
