A Lanzhou industrial project promotion conference was held in Lanzhou on March 2.

The Lanzhou Municipal Government, Lanzhou New Area, some counties or industrial parks in Lanzhou signed 15 contracts totally worth 26 billion yuan with 17 enterprises during a contract signing ceremony in Beijing on March 2.

The mayor of Lanzhou Yuan Zhanting attended the meeting and expressed that Lanzhou has made great progress in air pollution control in recent years and was recently branded one of China’s top 10 happiest cities. Being the first state-level new area in northwestern China, the Lanzhou New Area has completed a total investment of 160 billion yuan, he introduced.

The GDP of Lanzhou reached 209.599 billion yuan in 2015, up by 9.1 percent year on year, he said. Yuan expected that the signing ceremony can become a new platform to promote economic cooperation and inject new vitality to the opening-up process in Lanzhou.
