The city of Lanzhou plans to realize a four percent increase of industrial added value in 2016 and double the current figure in the next five years to 100 billion yuan by 2020, according to a themed conference held in Lanzhou on March 9.

The city will focus on developing petrochemical, new material, equipment manufacturing, tobacco, bio-medicine and other industrial chains. It also aims to foster 20 new listed companies within this year. Another target is that the strategic emerging industries complete an added value of 21 billion yuan with an annual growth rate of 20 percent.

A total of 14 projects are planned to be relocated from downtown to Lanzhou New Area and some 2000 new energy vehicles will be in service this year.
