The Shifogou Hua’er Festival will be held at the Shifogou National Forest Park in Qilihe District, Lanzhou City, from July 9 to 11. Hua’er, which literally means “flower” in Chinese, refers to a type of folk song popular among ethnic groups in western China.
With an aim to building up an ecological tourism and entertainment zone in Qilihe, the event will include a Hua’er singing competition and other outdoor sports and tourism promotional activities. Being a verdant area in Qilihe District, Shifogou is the Hua’er inheritance base in Gansu Province and has held the festival for 20 times.
