Lanzhou establishes 13 sister city ties

The city of Lanzhou has established sister city ties with 13 foreign cities since Akita in Japan became its first sister city in 1982, according to a related government conference on October 24. In addition, Lanzhou has also set up friendly exchange relations with another 24 cities from 18 countries, including Atlanta, Tampa, Hachinohe and so on.

Those connections broadened the city’s cooperation channels in economy, trade, science and technology, culture, education, infrastructure, hygiene and other sectors. Specifically, since the year of 2014, Lanzhou has established sister cities and friendly ties with several cities along the “Belt and Road,” including Osh, Mangystau, Kathmandu and so on.
