The city of Lanzhou, capital of Gansu Province, received 3.5 million tourists during the three-day holiday of Duanwu Festival, which falls on May 30 this year, with the tourism revenue totaling 2.76 billion yuan, up by 26.22 percent and 25.18 percent year on year respectively, according to Gansu Provincial Tourism Development Commission on May 31.
The rural tourism and folk cultural activities were popular during the festival and the self-drive was still the first choice for tourists across the whole province, according to the commission.
