Swarms of teenagers, with an average age of 13 years old, are seen practicing traditional Chinese opera performing arts at Lanzhou University of Arts and Science in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, on July 25. These students were enrolled by the secondary arts school of the university in 2014 as Gansu Province restarted to foster Chinese opera talents after a suspension of 10 years. They came from cities and prefectures across Gansu and would spend six years in learning the art. They are highly expected to inject new impetus to the development of local opera in the province.
