A delegation of Taiwan entrepreneurs organized by the Beijing Federation of Taiwan Compatriots visited Lanzhou New Area in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, on August 5.

During the reception and discussion meeting held by the management committee of the new area, Chen Ziyun, vice-director of Lanzhou New Area, noted that the new area has now become an important platform for China's westward opening-up and a junction point of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Euro-Asia Land Bridge. With distinctive regional advantages and abundant land and water resources, the new area is suitable for industrial clustering development and awaits investment from Taiwan entrepreneurs, he added.

"Taiwan entrepreneurs are faced with transformation and upgrading issues in Chinese mainland," said Wang Jianyuan, a representative from Cathay Life Insurance. "If Lanzhou New Area can offer favorable investment environment and help increase export sales for Taiwan businesses, more entrepreneurs from Taiwan will come to make investment here."

Both sides also expressed willingness to cooperate in cultural innovative industries. The visit can greatly facilitate communication, share resources and promote regional economic development, concluded Wang Landong, secretary of Party Committee of Beijing Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, at the meeting.
