The Lanzhou New Area has laid great emphasis on ecological progress by enhancing air pollution control, water environment treatment and environment management since 2012.

Over the past five years, it has compiled and released “Lanzhou New Area Ecological Environment Protection General Plan,” “Lanzhou New Area’s 13th Five-year Plan on Environment Protection” and other guidance documents, launched a series of ecological projects like shelter forests, landscape afforestation and Qinwangchuan National Wetland Park construction, enhanced water source preservation and strengthened law enforcement on environment pollution.

During the first seven months of this year, statistics have shown that the number of days with good air quality reached 172 and the sewage treatment rate was over 95 percent in Lanzhou New Area.
