A total of 16 waste recycling projects with a total investment of 1.43 billion yuan are under construction at the Honggu Park of Lanzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone in Lanzhou City, capital of Gansu Province.

With the mode of "abandonment, recycling, dismantling, processing and deep processing," the base is expected to process renewable waste resources like plastics, rubber, metal and paper totaling 788,000 tons and produce 650,000 tons of new products annually after its completion.

It is expected to realize annual sales revenue totaling 3.71 billion yuan and create 3,000 job opportunities, said Zhang Tiejun, vice-manager of the Lanzhou Renewable Resources Recycling Company.

Until now, a total of six waste electric appliances and products dismantling lines have been established at the park with the annual processed products and output value totaling 60,000 tons and 2.2 billion yuan respectively.

A scrapped car dismantling chain will be put into operation soon. "It just takes six minutes to dismantle a scrapped car at the industrial chain," said Pang Liang, manager of the project. It can process, detect, recycle and utilize parts of 11,800 scrapped cars annually with the output value totaling 2.1 billion yuan, he added.
