The passenger throughput at the Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, has totaled 12.01 million until December 5 this year, up by 17.7 percent year on year, according to Lanzhou Airport Corporation on December 6.

The Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport has promoted the opening-up pace of Gansu Province and the westward opening-up of China and contributed to the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative over the past few years, with its passenger throughput totaling eight and ten million in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

In 2017, the Lanzhou Zhongchuan International Airport increased flights connecting Lanzhou with large cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Urumqi , Guangzhou, Chengdu and Shenzhen, launched air expresses between Lanzhou and Dunhuang, Lanzhou and Urumqi, and opened air routes to Moscow, Dubai, St. Petersburg, Nagoya and other 12 international tourist cities.
