River Chief System established in Lanzhou

The River Chief System has been established in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, according to the Lanzhou Municipal Water Supplies Bureau on December 6.

 

A total of 258 river chief boards have been set up at the banks or channels of rivers across Lanzhou City. A total of eight main rivers, 253 flood ditches, 23 reservoirs, 51 middle and large check dams all have their river chiefs in Lanzhou, which are held by municipal, county, town and village governors.

 

The Lanzhou Municipal General Chief Li Rongcan and the Huangshui River Municipal General Chief Guo Zhiqiang made inspections at the rivers they are in charge of and resolved problems at the spot. The rivers chiefs at all levels have detected 146 problems, with 128 resolved and 18 being addressed.
