The Lanzhou New Area has invested three billion yuan on cultural tourism projects over the past few years. During the first ten months of last year, the new area received 900,000 visitors.
The Western China Dinosaur Park, the Great Wall Film Studio, the Blue Sky City Children Experience Center and several entertainment projects have been put into operation in the new area. The Qinwangchuan Wetland Park is expected to open to the public soon.
"Centering on the Silk Road, Innovative, Entertainment and Ecological Culture, the new area will strive to build up a tourism hub along the Silk Road by 2020," said the spokesman for the Business and Tourism Bureau of the new area.
