Wang Yucan is among the beneficiaries from Gaolan county's first batch of demonstration projects in photovoltaic (PV) power generation, which have encouraged plenty of residents to choose green energy.

Wang's photovoltaic power facility generated 28 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per day in winter and 38 to 40 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per day in summer, which help bring in 8,000 (US$1,273) to 10,000 yuan in revenues.

Gaolan county in Lanzhou city, capital of Gansu province, has been promoting photovoltaic (PV) power generation in recent years to help rural residents lifted out of poverty.
