The city of Lanzhou will build 50 smart underground parking lots in its downtown area by using top-down construction method in the next three years, according to a technology news briefing held in the city on May 21.
The feasibility and advantages of the method were illustrated during the conference. “It can make full use of social capital, promote the transformation of market modes, integrate existing resources, develop underground space and accelerate underground parking lots construction to a great extent,” said Fang Jiansheng, researcher of the Northwest Research Institute of China Railway Engineering Corporation, at the meeting.
