Rural tourism promotes economic development in Yongdeng

Rural tourism has promoted economic development in Yongdeng County, Lanzhou City, over the past few years.

The tourism revenue of the county totaled 1.49 billion, 1.87 billion, 2.43 billion and 3.06 billion yuan respectively from 2014 to 2017, with tourism becoming a pillar industry there.

During the seven-day National Day Holiday from October 1-7 this year, all the tourism resorts in Yongdeng received 314,300 tourists with the tourism revenue totaling 191.72 million yuan, both up by 12 percent year on year.

The Yueguo Happy Farm in Yongdeng received 90,000 tourists during the holiday. “It created over 320 job opportunities for local peasants,” according to the man in charge of the farm. The Meile Happiness Farm featuring agricultural experience and catering received over 100,000 tourists in the past six months and also created 50 more job opportunities for local people. The Shuping Small Town featuring resort and plants appreciation received over 20,000 tourists during the holiday and offered great opportunities for local people.
