Lanzhou New Area, a new economic growth point in the northwestern province of Gansu, has become a spotlight of the Silk Road Economic Belt and gained much attention from the business community.
A total of 31 new projects were introduced to the Lanzhou New Area with the investment volume totaling 73.91 billion yuan, according to spokespeople at the Lanzhou New Area contract signing ceremony during the 20th Lanzhou Investment and Trade Fair held on Sunday.
The Agriculture, Forestry and Water Affairs Bureau in Lanzhou New Area said the ecological afforestation has been developed effectively during the first half of this year.
Located at the Hubin District in the Lanzhou New Area, the beautiful musical fountain has attracted the attention of local people and travelers from its experimental operation last year. The fountain is now in use.
Lanzhou New Area will play a vital role in the construction of the “Silk Road Economic Belt” and China’s westward opening-up process, according to a high-level forum on the topic attended by renowned academicians and experts in Beijing on November 3.
An additional 14 enterprises with 14 projects will move from the Lanzhou city proper into the new area, with investment volume totaling around 6 billion yuan.
Being environmentally friendly is the prerequisite for enterprises to launch projects in the Lanzhou New Area, according to its spokesman on November 25.
